Driving excellence in ATM performance … with the help of Barco

Global air transport is expected to reach daunting heights by 2030. So how can the world keep ensuring safe and on-time flights despite that soaring amount of air traffic? In Europe, the Single European Sky initiative aims to tackle this challenge. One of the protagonists in the program is EUROCONTROL, the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation.

At the EUROCONTROL headquarters in Brussels, operators monitor the European traffic and weather situation, as well as a wide range of technical systems and data, on two large Barco video walls. In 2014, EUROCONTROL replaced the eight-year old, lamp-based walls by LED technology and installed a networked visualization solution. The result: better ergonomics, operational cost savings and plenty of scope to further optimize traffic control operations.
